The typical *North Star patient* is an average teenage boy from a good family. He has many talents and great potential. However, this good kid is now experiencing one, or a combination of the following struggles, such as ... negative peer association, defiance, problems with authority, lack of motivation, argumentative, depression, anxiety, or addiction, etc. He may currently be participating in self-destructive behavior: school failure, other self-harming acts of rebellion, and/or struggling with substance abuse* *and/or addictions, recently suspended from school or expelled, displays negative actions that purposefully generates shock, compulsive lying, constant manipulation, and fails to take accountability for his actions.
